AUCKLAND INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

Auckland Airport - (+ 64 9 275 0789) is located 14 miles south of Auckland. On arrival, in Auckland Airport, the taxi ranks are situated to the west of the International Terminal and in front of the Domestic Terminals. Shuttle buses also serve the airport, departing from near the taxi ranks. Airbus provides a bus service between the airport and city centre. There is also an airport-to-Pakuranga service. Contact Rideline on + 64 9 366 6400. It takes about three quarters of an hour to get from the airport to the centre of Auckland. If you prefer you can arrange a helicoptor trip from the Airport to the city.

To get to the airport if you’re driving, take the southern motorway until the Gillies Avenue exit and then follow the airport signs. Car hire companies with desks in the terminals include Avis, Budget and Hertz. Auckland International Airport provides public car parks in front of the each of the three terminals. A free shuttle bus runs between the terminals. There is a secure long-term car park located within comfortable walking distance from the International Terminal, with covered and open parking available. Telephone + 64 9 256 8527.

Airport hospitality ambassadors or 'Blue Coats' are available throughout the terminals to assist passengers. They are easily located due to their distinctive blue jackets.

Banks with money change facilities are located throughout the International Terminal and ATMs can be found throughout the airport. There are numerous restaurants, cafés and bars at the airport, with a number of speciality eateries, including an espresso bar, and a sushi bar. There are over seventy five shops situated throughout the airport and a shopping collection service is available for returning shoppers or online purchases.

The Visitors Information Centre is located on the ground floor in the domestic transfer area, Telephone + 64 9 275 6467 and here you can get some information leaflets for your stay in Auckland. There is also a Muslim Prayer Mat on the first floor.

A large amount of recreational and entertainment facilities is available at Auckland Airport, including many facilities suitable for children. These range from the Airtime Magic museum (with cultural exhibits and memorbilia on Marilyn Monroe and Elvis and much more on the top floor of the international terminal), through mini golf courses to an outdoor playground.
